Beats are life. Marco “Polo” Bruno, by way of Toronto and now making his home in Brooklyn, lives by this mantra. In a few short years the T. Dot native has gone from green producer with a new MPC 2000XL to a highly sought after purveyor of boom-bap, laying down tracks for the likes of Masta Ace, Boot Camp Clik and Sadat X. They’ve built up a large underground following over the past couple of years and are now ready to unleash their new album ‘Shock To The System’.

 Any real heads that hold memories of the mid-nineties “Golden Age” of Hip-Hop will no doubt have memories of Ohio / New Jersey resident, DJ Lord Jazz of The Lords Of The Underground. Like so many Lord Jazz tried out dancing and graffiti before trying DJing and knowing that was for him. He kept at it and held down a radio show and played at parties whilst at Shaw University. |

The dynamic duo from Portland, OR (a.k.a. Razorblade City) who go by the name of Lifesavas - emcee / producer Jumbo the Garbageman and emcee Vursatyl - couldn’t be any more separate in terms of vocal style, point of view and even appearance, yet what they bring as a collective is timeless.

The independent label Quannum Projects was first conceived in 1991 as a collective by the artists Blackalicious, DJ Shadow, Lateef, Lyrics Born and the journalists DJ Zen (Jeff Chang) and Jazzbo (Joseph Patel), under the moniker “Solesides Records”.
