They are keen to tell us that there is and always has been an
abundance of UK Hip Hop from day one. There are 'UK Underground Giants
Of Hip Hop' here in England, and we must not forget them too.

The
crew had to do everything off their own backs as finance was
unavailable, they went on to explain that, "Cash for these releases at
that time came from selling jazz break beats and old skool rap records
to guys like, Abi (Now owner of Catch A Groove Records, back then
worked at Unity records , which changed to Red records), Vinyl Mania,
Reds Brixton, Red Records Soho, Groove Records, (we sold them loads of
shit!!), plus more in other towns and countries!!"
The two key
members of Fatt Jointz boast that they have a record collection of
Break beats that would put most "So called New York DJ's to shame", and
dare you to ask, "Johnny F, Fusion from MTV Base, Mike Jay from Demon
Boys or Goldie" about it. "Yes Goldie,", they continue, "We used to
live close by, DJ Mushroom from Massive, back then we were called Audio
KingZ".
Sure Shot and his close friend Willie (Will Kill) Bee
came together when Sure Shot was selling Jazz records and break beats
in the streets. Both being producers they originally formed the Blak
ProphetZ in the mid 80’s although they had been around for many years
before. As time went by though, during the autumn of 1984 the group
broke up and reformed under another name, ‘The Audio Kingz’.
Due
to the group’s knowledge and vast collection of Jazz music, Funk and
break beats, Sure Shot and Willie B came to London in 1986 to
distribute, sell and promote themselves and their music. Collectively
the Blak ProphetZ experience within this field is a major contribution
to this form of music. They are the underground giants in Hip Hop; at
one time they were the unsigned, un-heard underground artists across
the globe. But things are about to change dramatically.
Over
the years they have kept their hand in and could possibly be best known
for their successful work with the likes of US3, Urban Species, Justin
Timberlake, Ultramagnetic MC’s & even DJ Tony Tone of the legendary
Cold Crush Brothers.
And the future? "We now have our own Record
Label called FJ Entertainment Inc, and we are in completion of all the
financials and legal bits. “We often get bombarded with demo tapes from
all corners of the world as we first started the label plans in San
Francisco and New York, and yes there is US FJ office".

remember about the Blak Prophetz is that there is a long history both
before and after that joint dropped. In honour of them getting their
website up we thought we'd better have a couple of words and
chronologically take you through the main points in that history. Being
one of the original UK crews they point out that, "We have been around
