Knobody is a smooth rapping fella from the West Coast for whom words just trip off his tongue. Since the age of 16 he has been slanging CDs on the street and in 2001 released Tha Book of Mathieu. In 2006 Knobody's career began to gain serious momentum when he hooked up with the Hieroglyphics Crew.

Ashley Walters (a.k.a. Asher D) is originally well known for his work with the U.K. street music pioneer group So Solid Crew. But Asher has way more to receive credit for; he’s a well established actor, solo artist, production company director and proud father of three. The ever wonderful Jazz Café recently offered a heavyweight hip hop show featuring Slum Village, Phat Kat, and Lifesavas with DJ Design, DJ Dez and DJ DV One. Some quality music and a vibrant show was offered to a well deserving crowd, heavily peppered with fans singing along to valuable Kat and Slum joints the whole show through.

There’s something about Phat Kat I like. I’m not sure what it is. He says it’s because he’s sexy. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but his warm character is definitely engaging. Phat Kat, who worked with J Dilla in the early days has been through a lot of ups and downs in the industry. With labels and management folding etc, he has had to fight to be where he is.

Hip hop legend Donald-D came into Hip Hop as a b-boy breakin on the streets of the Bronx. It is said when he saw Busy Bee Starski rockin the mic @ 118 Park with DJ Disco King Mario he knew where his mission in Hip Hop was headed. He started his own crew the "As Salaam Brothers" with rap partner E.Z.A.D of the famous "Cold Crush Brothers".

Last weekend saw 2000 fans cram into the new Indigo2 venue in the Millennium Dome to witness the DMC World Finals competition. The night saw the usual turntable trickery overseen by DMC don Tony Prince. What went down was spectacular and finally after hours of battling France's DJ Rafik was crowned the World Champion.
