Camden Black History Month Camden is proud to present to you a fantastic Black History Month program for 2006 that celebrates the achievements and history of Black African and Caribbean communities who live and work in the borough. This years theme is ‘Spoken Word’ and will offer a wide range wide range of different forms including rap, writing, song, Film and performing arts.

Roll Deep Debut Exclusive New Track At Tate ModernTate Modern today launches the second in the Tate Tracks series of exclusive music partnerships with a new track from East London grime collective Roll Deep. The new track “Searching” is inspired by Anish Kapoor’s sculpture Ishi’s Light and will be exclusively available at a listening post in front of the artwork for one month. The track will also be available for a further month from 1st November on the www.tatetracks.org.uk website.

After years of recording and performing, Blade now announces this to be his last ever performance, but says he will continue to record for fun and see what happens. As yet untitled, the album is slated for release on November 7th on Universal Motown Records. Penelope enlisted two high-profile collaborators for the lead singles of the album; Lil Wayne on "Miss Me With That Foolishness" and Mya on the R&B tinged "No Matter What They Say".

CarvelliCarvelli has come a long way since ambling at his pa's heels under the poker table at The Club, yet he credits his backroom exposure with sculpting the artist he would become. "What an environment," he says. "There's no way a kid should be in there, the smoke, the cards, the money. But there I was. It was four, five nights a week... I guess it's because of that that I always had the feeling it was cool to be where people said you shouldn't go."

Cut La Roc Breaks World Record at PLASA 2006An official world record was added to the Guinness Book of Records on Sunday 10th September for simultaneously mixing on 20 decks and 10 mixers!!  Cut La Roc and Ecler had been planning the event for months and after a few technical difficulties during set up the stage was set for history in the making!  Cut La Roc remained calm throughout, well, at least on the outside, here's a run down of the days events:

Pac-Man & gayhiphop.com present - PEACEOUT UK 2 - UK GAY HIP-HOP FESTIVAL - FRIDAY 20TH OCTOBER 2006PeaceOUT UK is Europe’s only gay hip-hop festival, organised by the Pac-Man and gayhiphop.com crew (QBoy, Mistermaker, NineBob & Gideon). The first PeaceOUT UK was held during August 2005. It was an extension and part of past and on-going gay hip-hop festivals held in the USA. The first PeaceOUT event ever started in Oakland, California in 2002 and since it has spread over the different states and countries including successful PeaceOUT East festivals held in New York and of course, PeaceOUT UK.
