Brighton Association Of Sound SystemsFollowing the success of last year’s BASS community ‘Fayre’ we are pleased to confirm that this year’s event will take place on Saturday 2nd September 2006 on The Level in Brighton from 11.00am till 7.30pm.

We are seeking the participation of local artists and crafts people and community and environmental groups - if you are interested please contact Dinky on 07977920681 or by e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible for more information.

There will be many different attractions on site to engage the visitors’ interest including a kids’ space hosted by Brighton Peace and Environment Centre with circus workshops with a performance from Children’s Music Playhouse.  Conservation/environmental/ecological short films and discussions throughout the day courtesy of Schnews, plus EcoArcadia (eco-games), a healing area, dj workshops and Radio Reverb will be hosting and broadcasting from the stand-up cabaret tent.  The event will be powered by alternative energy and there will be a cafe on site serving refreshments.

This event is intended to raise awareness to the wider community of Brighton and Hove of the many local community and environmental projects and groups who serve and benefit their community, many of which are involved in local development and regenerative programmes, and also to promote local arts and crafts. The use of the central location of The Level will ensure the inclusion of the whole community by the removal of barriers to minority groups, ie disabled people and those without access to transport.  There will be films, kids’ space, dj workshops, stand up cabaret tent, workshops and talks/discussions. The event will be powered by renewable energy and there will be a cafe on site.

Brighton Alliance of Sound Systems is a non profit making provident organisation.  We are a group of free spirited people dedicated to providing an alternative non corporate way of partying, who organise free community events with the aim of bringing the people of Brighton and Hove closer together in order to have fun and share information. Through this we aim to raise the energy and spirits of the community. BASS is also a platform to allow local artists and musicians to express themselves, everybody involved gives their time freely for your enjoyment.
