Its been nearly a year since Marvin aka ‘Marvin The Martian’ released ‘I Hate My Job’… Since then, he’s signed a major label deal with Universal’s new label NoCarbon Records, spent the summer in Bristol recording a ground-breaking album, lined up the first single for 3rd December, made a video with indie director Paul Morricone in Leeds and has just been confirmed as support on the forthcoming Lethal Bizzle headline tour… So much news in one go, here’s a breakdown…
Single: ‘Get By (Be Good)’ Released 3rd December
This is the first track to come from a summer spent in the studio with Emmy award winning producer Bob Locke (Massive Attack, Tricky & Goldfrapp). Moving on from the Grindie sound, this is a Brixton Vs Bristol soundclash that delivers beats & rhymes in an emphatic style. ‘Get By (Be Good)’ reflects upon life in Lon don right now.
Video: Directed by Paul Morricone
Is now available online: Marvin The Martian Video. Paul Morricone (Forward: Russia !, The Young Knives, The Holloways) delivers a part performance / part animated video starring Marvin as a modern day artful dodger.
