After spending the craziest year promoting “The 18th Day”, Estelle
has been busy recording her sophomore album in London, New York and
LA. The new material, scheduled to be released on V2/J-did early
in the new year, has been co-produced by Estelle, who has been
developing her talents in the studio, as well as perfecting her lyrical
skills.
She has also hooked up with producers Dave Tozer, Michael Angelo
(Raphael Saadiq, Jill Scott), Devo Harris (John Legend), Joe Buddha,
Mark Ronson (Jay Z, Sean Paul, Rhymefest) and John Legend, for
what promises to be a raw and infectious blend of hip hop and soul, and a real
step forward for a homegrown artist who has already achieved much in her
career. In her own words: “the next album will still be soulful and
melodic, but a lot more gritty and real.”
Adding more strings to her bow, Estelle has just co-directed the video
for promo release “Dance With Me” featuring Big P, Nathan,
and Vis. This will be released alongside a new mixtape on her own
Stellarents label on 17th October. “I have always released mixtapes and
tracks on my own label, before and after I was signed. I am constantly being
asked when I am putting out new music and Stellarents allows me to keep people
happy on a street level, while working on my album.” “Da Heat Part 4”
features JD, Asher D, Kele Le Roc, Royston, K9,
Kardinall Offishall, Haidara and Skeme. Did you enjoy this? Please share or bookmark with: |
