 Sounding more Detroit than Stockholm, Up Hygh, the wonder-kid hip-hop / soul production duo, are quite literally poised to reinvent the “Swedish sound”. Through their ‘Venus’ album, Pure-P and Rick Skizzo, the two 20yr-old producers behind Up Hygh, have delivered a unique pressure-cooked mixture of sexy deepspace funk, raw hip-hop and soulful r&b.
With an unmistakable nod to underground production superteams such as The Ummah, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and Platinum Pied Pipers, Up Hygh’s futuristic hiphopnusoulsound retains a distinct and unique edge, providing a perfect backdrop for the stellar cast of guests, including Little Brother, Eska, ADL, Planet Asia and more. But not content with producing alone, the guys also sing & rap on a number of the tracks themselves! Check ‘Compatible’ for the perfect example of this! The full album drops on 30th October 2006.
