R.I.P. 50/50It is with great regret that we inform you of the passing of Carl 50/50Fearon, original member of The UK's World Famous / Imfamous Hip Hop Supergroup, The 57th Dynasty. His funeral has is scheduled for 25th of January, with a reception to be held at The Harry Caddick Hall, Lilford Road, Brixton.

A tribute page to the life and legacy of Carl "50/50" Fearon has just been set up at: http://www.myspace.com/rip5050.

As a 15 year old MC, Carl shared in the multitude of successes with the eight man strong, 57th Dynasty, and later on his own with classic tracks featuring John Legend's own Estelle. Hold Strong, Break Free, Coz We Rebel, Still I Rise and Love Of Hiphop are just a few of the classic songs featuring 50's stellar performances.

50/50 alongside The Dynasty enjoyed a wealth of international exposure and accolades for their independent DIY ethic and par-none skills including their mini-byte series on MTVNE, full page feature in Source Magazine, sole support for many of Americas biggest selling urban acts such as Eminem, DMX, Outcast, Common (3xs), The Roots, D12, Eve & The Lox, Slum Village (2xs), Rah Digga, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang, Dilated Peoples and Sean Paul to name a few.

Sadly, 50/50 left us unexpectedly on the 1st of January 2008. Contrary to ‘word on road’, Carl passed peacefully in his sleep of a brain haemorrhage just 2 days after his 26th Birthday, and not in any violent manner as the streets would suggest.

30 Dec 1982 - 01 Jan 2008
.

Funeral arrangements have been made public by request of Carl's wife. The weeks following will see various [internet & radio] DJ's from across the country playing 50's music as a tribute to the MC who came into the national spotlight at the tender age of 15 recording on The 57th Dynasty's classic material, The Spoken Word and Boro 6 Vol. II - A Dynasty Truly Like No Other albums.

R.I.P. to "Lord Rap" aka "The Middle Man" bka "50/50".
