Guilty Or Innocent Of Using The N Word?The Hip-hop film, Guilty Or Innocent Of Using The N Word, directed by B. Malkani is premiering in London next month. The controversial documentary, which was recently sponsored by the city of Wilmington, (Delaware, USA) investigates questions around the N word that we often discuss among ourselves. The film breaks down the word chronologically from the history of the word (nigger) all the way up to Hip-Hop's influence on the acceptance and commercialization (nigga).
 
Guest appearances in the documentary include M1 from Dead Prez, Grouchy Greg, CEO of Allhiphop.com, The Last Emperor, up and coming rapper Marchitect and many others.  
 
This is a free, educational hip-hop event, which is open to the public.
 
DATE:             Wednesday 3 May 2006
TIME                6-8.30pm
LOCATION    Goldsmiths College, (room TBA), New Cross London
 
A question and answer session will follow after the viewing of the film, with special guest panellists including rap duo SASPaul H from Hip-Hop Connection, Matilda Egere-Cooper from The Independent and Blues & Soul Magazine and Dr Lez Henry, from Goldsmiths college. (More guests TBA)
 
Itinerary of Premiere:
 
5.30: Panelists and Press to arrive - (please call Bhavna on arrival.)
6.00: Dr Brian Alleyne to introduce Bhavna and film to the audience
6.45: Bhavna introduced panellists' views on the N word to the audience
6,55: Audience to ask questions/Share views
8:15: End of event.
