This is apparently a download only CD which is available from www.shortyonline.co.uk for the month of April and available for purchase thereafter. Shorty are also known as the Seven Head Army and are a seven piece Hip Hop band. They are able to mix styles from Funk to Rock and have a bit of a following as a live phenomenon.

This is apparently Leeds’ first Hip Hop compilation. Coming from Leeds originally, this is something which interests me. Leeds has always had a vibrant Hip Hop scene and this CD brings together some of the current talent. The CD features already established artists like Breaking The Illusion and Junkyard Tactics. |

Some artists make albums because they can. The great ones make albums because they have to. With that said, the first thing you need to know about Boston-bred MC Mr. Lif’s new album, ‘Mo’ Mega’, is that this is the album he had to make.

West London’s Tef-Co are an upcoming crew and have their first official single Rumours out now. They come across as a very professional unit and their image is well refined. These guys seem to know what direction they are going in. The CD features three tracks, the first Rumours makes use of production from DJ Gold Fingers and comes in dirty and radio versions.

Originally a DJ, the lack of decks in his halls forced him to try his hand at MCing. I have a couple of English Kid CDs here to tell you about. I have very little info on the guy, suffice to say that he hails from Peckham, South London. This particular CD that I have got round to is three tracks long.

Narcissus was born in '87, was raised in Reading, and as he puts it, 'shit happens, dropped out of school at 15 years old, started writin rhymes'. When we asked him he continued that he, 'left college under unfortunate circumstances, was a bum, worked on music' and so on. |

Heads have been waiting for this tomb to drop for a hot minute and finally here it is. Asaviour's debut LP, The Borrowed Ladder which is set to destroy sets across the globe. The intro for the LP gets things off to a speedy start with a fantastically funky loop and Asaviour shouting out his cohorts who have helped him get to this stage. Certainly an upbeat and interesting way to start. |
