Mariah Carey - E=MC2 CD [Def Jam / Mercury]Mariah is back and on top form with E=MC2 ready to make and break some new records. She has recently scored her eighteenth number one with the album's debut Touch My Body which accompanies a cheeky video with unicorns, laser tag and a compu-nerd as her co-star.

Mariah has described E=MC2 as a dessert compared to its main course, her last album, The Emancipation of Mimi. The record is packed full of potential killer pop singles and the lyrics are frisky, fun and deep. Her voice still has as much passion as she did when she entered the music industry in the 90's.

Side Effects, featuring Young Jeezy, hints at the turmoil of her marriage to record label big shot Tommy Mottola. Migrate with its big bass is ready for the clubs and flipping it completely she strips down to her vocals in the gospel flavoured I Wish You Well.

With help from C. "Tricky" Stewart and The-Dream, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox and Nate "Danjahandz" Hills the production is flawless. The fans will appreciate For The Record and Cruise Control sees Mariah sing in patois but it's strangely natural to listen to.

I'm That Chick delves into the disco era and O.O.C. (Out Of Control) is ready to be pumped out of convertibles this summer. To top it all, there are some beautiful ballads including I Stay In Love, Love Story and Bye Bye, which talks of losing loved ones, where Mariah shows she still has 'the voice'. We're feeling emancipated to the second power courtesy of MC.

BHH gives E=MC2 4.5 out of 5.
