DJ MaseoAs one third of Hip Hop super-group De La Soul, DJ Maseo aka Vincent Mason's ability and immense talents on the turntables has seen him travel the world, making the transition from turntable maestro to Hip Hop phenomenon.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mase joined forces with two of his high-school friends, Kelvin Mercer and David Jolicouer, to become De La Soul. In 1989, the trio released their first album, '3 Feet High and Rising'. De La Soul was an instant success and the album was certified platinum. Since then the group have released six further albums: 'De La Soul is Dead', 'Buhloone Mindstate', 'Stakes is High', 'AOI: Mosaic Thump', 'AOI: Bionix' and 'The Grind Date'.

During the course of their long-standing career, De La Soul has received Soul Train, MTV and Grammy award nominations. In addition to the many accolades they have received, De La Soul has been featured on numerous soundtracks including: Men in Black, Judgment Night and Dexter's Lab.

'MP3 Classics Volume 1.0' is Maseo's first official mixtape, and is a perfect snapshot of his party-style DJ set, with classic golden era hip hop, funk and soul. Featuring clued up cuts from Redman, Biz Markie, Method Man, Dougie Fresh, Jungle Brothers, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, even dropping in classics by Marvin Gaye and Prince, Maseo never fails to deliver the bass and the funk.

'M:P3 Classics' also introduces Bear Mountain Entertainment; Maseo's own label. Bear Mountain has been gestating for a while (both Mos Def and TY were briefly signed to the label in the past), but it is finally set to launch in 2006 (kicking off with De La protégé Butta Verses later in the year).
