There is not got long to go before the 6th Rising Styles Hip Hop Festival is upon us. Launched in 2004, Rising Styles (RS) is the UK ’s largest celebration of international hip-hop culture. State of Play is the film adaptation of the 2003 BBC TV series of the same name, condensed into film length with the location moved to Washington DC. Crowe plays McAffrey an old school journalist who is old college friends with slick Congressman Collins (Affleck).

The Hip Hop Informant is back with the second volume of his Evolution Of Hip Hop Series. Its billed as a mixtape and I'm not sure why as this is a simple compilation. Regardless the selection of tracks is top notch and an eye-opener to the sheer variety of Hip Hop that is available out there right now. There is a grime feel to some of the tracks, but that is not to say that there isn't a few boom bap classics in there as well as a few obligatory shout outs, (propers to Natureboy Rowe who even shouts out Britishhiphop.co.uk!!).

After their well received début singe Superstars b/w Dusk Till Dawn Hip Hop vagabonds Tactical Thinking strike back with their first full length LP Too Broke To Go Solo. The album offers a manic mix of ferocious battle raps, dirty electro dance floor killers, cock-sure hip hop and even a side step into doo wop (honest).

Warren Griffin III is better known by his stage name Warren G. He’s a legendary rapper and hip hop producer who came from the G-Funk era. He is Dr. Dre's step brother. His biggest hit to date was the single "Regulate" with Nate Dogg released in 1994. Now he is back with his sixth studio album The G Files. Check out what he had to say to Nikhil Sharma.
