Leddie And Smoggy - New Tracks And DownloadsLeddie and Smoggy (L&S) are a positive UK Hip Hop duo from Middlesborough, UK. Leddie is a 22 year old female Hip Hop artist and producer and Smoggy is a 24 year old male Hip Hop artist. In advance of their LP they have been regularly dropping taster tracks.

They have recently remixed the raspy, synthpop smash "Cooler Than Me" by american recording artist Mike Posner. Whilst maintaining the essence of the original song, they have replaced the original dance / pop drums with a double time Hip Hop / Dubstep beat, mixing it up with added layers of distorted guitar parts and an additional lead guitar (courtesy of Alex G S). they have apparently based the remix around the concept of vanity and arrogance, addressing 'lack of respect' for people whom are deemed different, and the image over ability issue repeatedly seen within todays society.

Other tracks recently doing the rounds include "Equals" which is a tune explaining the importance of equality, using mathematical terminology. The track "Part of the Process" was released mid January and has gone on to recieved more than 5 thousand views in four weeks due to the support from social networks, blogs and radio.

They have performed all over the UK, and have had the privilege to support some of the UK's biggest underground Hip Hop artists, as well as Indie. They have performed at respectable venues within the Middlesbrough area, such as: The Arena and Middlesbrough's Town Hall Crypt where they headlined a Hip Hop event. They have also performed at Newcastle's Evolution Festival in 2010 on the 'Evo Emerging Stage', and due to their lyrical content and views / opinions which are socially conscious and aware, they were chosen to support Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip on the Middlesbrough leg of their tour in June 2010. They have performed at other respectable venues within the Middlesbrough area, such as; The Arena and Middlesborough's Town Hall Crypt where they headlined a Hip Hop event and Underground Hip Hop events, nationwide.

They have appeared, and gained support, from 1xtra's BBC Homegrown and BBC Introducing, appeared live on BBC Tees and Click Radio (Teesside University Campus and Online Radio) for a live performance and Interview. As well as be featured and reviewed in local newspapers and various Hip Hop websites.

Their free downloadable mix CD - "The Calm Before the Storm" can be heard at: http://www.youtube.com/LeddieandSmoggy or downloaded for free at: http://www.leddieandsmoggy.bandcamp.com. This specific mix CD, is older material, mainly solo, which Leddie and Smoggy wanted to release in order to start over for the album they wrote together. The Mix CD has recieved over 4500 downloads since being released in Nov 2009.
