OF LIMBO composes of brothers Jake and Luke Davies. The duo left their home in Melbourne, Australia, to chase their rock and roll dream. Now residing in Long Beach, California, they found a sound that touches the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s influences.
Blending their influences into something new, OF LIMBO adds Robert Gravely on bass and Christopher Bug Bristol on the drums to fill their final lineup. The band’s music is focused on never repeating itself.
Every song paints a unique color, soundscape, and emotion. Lyrically, the band approaches from the standpoint of telling a story or making a statement. They often draw concepts from their own life experiences and revelations.
Their latest single, ‘My Kind of Girl‘, is a celebration of women for what makes them unique. It’s an appreciation of female beauty in all its shapes, sizes, and colours of the rainbow.
The song opens with a lead guitar lick reminiscent of Billy Squier‘s ‘The Stroke’, then it thumps into its groove with a funk-driven slap bass guitar. Additionally, Jake delivers a smooth party rock hook that makes you feel like you must have heard this track before.
The band shares, “It’s a positive anthem of female appreciation. The riff stays in your head for days. It’s the kind of song that makes you happy and feel like bouncing around“. OF LIMBO’s sound is a new brand of hard rock that feels familiar but is distinctly unique.
