Lyricist/creator/social influencer Paul Hernandez invigorates the Canadian music scene with his avant-garde melodies and witty song visuals. He interweaves themes of faith in a hip-hop and pop signature sound with introspective and vulnerable content.
Paul may be a new sound in the industry, but when you listen to his songs, you’ll hear the tone and delivery of a polished and seasoned vet with the sense of self-discovery you often see from a millennial.
Paul is a multi-faceted artist and a visual Picasso. He captains the recording, engineering, and marketing vessels of every song. Having grassroots in the church, Paul harnesses his faithful journey to engage with fans and create music that will change moods and lives.
His latest single, ‘94′ Altima,’ is about how he ruined his first car in which his dad bought him. Paul shares, “I was 16 when I began learning how to drive. Around the same time, my dad had got me my first car, a 1994 Nissan Altima. About six months in, it had several dents and scratches“.
The song reveals how the used car eventually taught Paul how to drive, despite the bumps and bruises along the way. He says, “It’s similar to how in life God gives us more when we learn to be responsible with the little things. I found that we can choose to self-deprecate or maybe even laugh at our past mistakes“. From a production standpoint, Paul wanted to make an upbeat and fun song.
