UK rap legend Dr Syntax is back with Benny Huge, his long-awaited second solo album on Dented Records. From the massive fanfare opener Standard Procedure through to the epic prog rock-sampling finale The Bird Has Flown, its clear that Syntax has delivered a phenomenal sophomore release easily worthy of its predecessor, 2007's critically acclaimed Self Taught (named one of Hip Hop Connection's top 50 UK albums of all time).

I have been a big fan of Stig’s for a while now. He has been throwing his weight around destroying MCs at the Jump Off freestyle events and has quickly risen to be one of the UK’s finest battlers, so I was positively salivating at the prospect of his debut release.

Dr Syntax is probably better known for some of his collaborations with the Foreign Beggars and for ripping it up in their live show. Now he has his own release on Dented Records in collaboration with Beer & Rap.

The Foreign Beggars have to be one of the most universally respected crews out there at the moment. Their human beatboxer Shlomo also has to be one of the best on these shores at what he does. Recently he enthralled a live TV audience with a tremendous display of what an accomplished human beatboxer can acheive with just their vocal chords and a mic.
