Swift It MajorSwift It Major is undeniably one of the UK’s rising stars, with two well versed mix CD’s ‘Welcome To Induction’ & ‘Road Work’, Swift is now embarking on his debut album entitled ‘A Park Bench Drama’, and hitting the ground running for 2007 with the release of his first single off the album, ‘Charlie’s Angels’. We caught up with Swift to hear more on the project…

It’s been heat since 2005; tell us on your journey thus far…

Swift It Major: I put out my debut mix CD ‘Welcome to Induction’ in October 2005 which was distributed mostly by hand on the streets and was available for free on the counter of Deal Real Records, Uptown Records, Red Records and Dub Vendor.

Swift It MajorDuring this time I worked with Lossol Entertainment and had a track called ‘We Are On Fire’, on the Gov’Nors mix CD.

In April 2006 I released my second Mix CD ‘Road Work’ which has fantastic feedback on road as well as in the industry. I’ve had interviews and reviews in, HHC Mag, RWD Mag,,, Raw and

During this time I put out a track on Wolftown's UK Runnings, featured on US recording artist Mishal Moore’s second album ‘Just Believe’ and featured on Losols latest project ‘Sticks n Stones'.

Not many people know your background, how did you get into this game?

Swift It Major: I’ve been MCing and writing songs now for 3 years. Starting out as a hype man for SBK sound, this moved on to garage MCing, with a small crew. We played in places such as Q Bar in Oxford Street to Citizens in Wandsworth.

I then started writing verses for Paradise’s (former 57th Dynasty) new project ‘The Good Samaritan Project’ which was the starting point and foundation for my own break through into the industry.

We did shows extensively in 2005 from local youth projects in Harlesden, Hackney and Reading. To supporting KRS One at Shepherds Bush Empire to my first public battle at the jump off where I beat Reveal and lost in the final to the jump off champion Professor Green.

And it all culminates into your first album and first single release ‘Charlie’s Angels’ tell us about it…

Swift It MajorSwift It Major: ‘Charlie’s Angels’ is just one track from my fourth coming album ‘A Park Bench Drama’ which will be released mid 2007. Charlie’s Angels is about the relationship between drugs “Charlie” and my work colleagues who I always referred to as my Angels.

It’s a comical but true reflection of the challenges I personally face in the office. A different view on the usual ‘street reality’ rap, which is common in so called ‘urban music’ these days.

“Charlie” the drug, is depicted as a demon conscience who has my girl colleagues under ‘it’s’ spell who tries to tempt me into taking a hit to ‘fit in’ with the working crowd. It’s enlightening, conscious and cleverly put together to entertain.

When is the album to be released?

Swift It Major: Mid 2007. In between that time I’m releasing 3 singles – ‘Charlie’s Angels’, ‘Nothing Like Me’, and ‘Gloria’. My Album ‘A Park Bench Drama’ will feature UK veterans Malik (MD7), Reveal and Paradise as well as some fresh talent from Skeem Music and H2O.

You can purchase ‘Charlie’s Angels’ through, I-tunes, and other major download sites… You can keep up to date with dates and releases from Swift by logging onto
