The Opera House Brings Soul II The SouthBritish dance legends Soul II Soul will be bringing their innovative sound to Bournemouth’s Opera House in a show that will live up to the bands philosophy, ‘A Happy face, a Thumpin’ bass, for a Lovin’ race’! Soul II Soul will be setting the stage alight on 2nd November with their first live tour since 1988, with their funky beats, which caught the nation’s attention in the late 80’s and shaped the sound of dance music in the UK, with its mixture of smooth soul and dance vibes.

The original ‘funky dred’ and band’s founder, Jazzie B put the band together in the late 80’s, and Soul II Soul quickly made it as one of the most successful soulful exports from the UK during the late 80’s and early 90’s and had huge hits with singles Keep on Movin and Back to Life (However Do You Want Me) which both featured the velvety tones of Caron Wheeler on vocals, who once again be performing the well known hits at the Opera House!

Jazzie B is looking forward to the show, he said, "Bournemouth has always been a special place for me, even more so over the last few years since a few of the town's key players have been regular supporters of our Back II Life festival in Antigua".

"November 2nd will be a important night as it will be the first time we'll be performing some of our new material. Also, to show our appreciation to our loyal fans, two tickets for our Back II Life festival 5th anniversary trip to Antigua (April 2008) will be given away on the night!"

Soul II Soul will perform their rare ‘Live’ show at the Opera House as one of only a handful of venues to be privileged to host the performance by the Grammy award winning band.

Tickets to Soul II Soul Live are selling fast with original 80’s followers joining Soul II Soul’s newest fans thanks to exposure of the bands music in popular video game ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ and soul diva, Mary J Blige’s cover version of Back to Life.

With the Opera House’s recent £4m refurbishment restoring the venue to its former glory and style, it lends itself perfectly to make the most of Soul II Soul’s Live performance and its funky R & B tunes.

Soul II Soul will be at the Opera House in Bournemouth on 2nd November. Tickets can be purchased from http://www.operahouse.co.uk or call the box office on 08701 98 98 98 or 08700 340 380.
