The Last Skeptik - No Train mp3 [Grindstone]Brand new from DJ and producer The Last Skeptik comes this addictively eerie bricolage of massive drums and funk addled bass. The filth on the snares sits on top of your brain and shakes any juice out all over the floorboards. An anthem for anyone that's ever spewed hatred about the lateness, or lack of, a train (or steam engine for you older types), 'No Train!' is an ode to the small town of Beek en Donk in the Netherlands, which has no train station. Woe is them.

Backed by two instrumental heaters, both 'Know My Name' and 'Back / Forth' are equally influenced by Teddy Riley as they are by Bucky O'Hare. Featuring the violins of Tessa Gilles (The Mummers), both songs show Skeptik going a bit nutty on the synths. A stonker of a 3 track single.

This new single follows on from the success of 2010s 'Same Day Different Sh*t', a compilation of commissioned remixes that featured the likes of Marina and The Diamonds, Daniel Merriweather, The Streets and many more - receiving accolades from MTV, BBC Radio One, Big Cheese, Huck, DJ and IDJ among many others. On top of this, the past year has seen Skeptik remix the likes of Gorillaz, Enter Shikari and Kate Nash too. Phewf! Skep also dropped heavily rotated guest DJ mixes for everyone from BBC 1xtra and BBC 6 Music, to Fabric and Data Transmission, and opened up shows for Method Man, The Klaxons, Zero 7, Just Blaze, Raekwon and host of others.

As a producer, to date, Skeptik has worked with the likes of The King Blues [co-writing their single Holiday], Get Cape, Wear Cape Fly, Sway, MF Grimm, Davids Lyre, Jehst, Kyza and Lowkey to name a few. As a DJ, Skeptik has shared stages and performed with such modern luminaries as Damon Albarn, Flea (Red Hot Chill Peppers), Akala, Shlomo, Hard-Fi, Babyshambles and Tony Allen among many others, and has rocked shows from Japan and America, to the all around the Middle East.

Release Date: 19th September
