Breakin' Boundaries 2009

Thursday 5th March 2009 will see the fourth annual charity Hip Hop extravaganza – Breakin' Boundaries. Promising to be even bigger and better then last year, not only will this bring together some of the best b-boys (breakdancers) from around the UK but also some very special international guests to bring some explosive dance action to Tutu's to help raise money for Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital Trust.

The DJ’s will be playing the very best in Hip Hop, R&B, Funk, Breaks, Funky House and Bashment to suit the needs of everyone, but this will be no ordinary night, action packed full of dance battles and shows featuring the top eight Breakdance crews in the UK (inc. Soul Mavericks from the UK B-Boy Championships) compete against each other to help raise money for a good cause.

It doesn’t stop there; we have a live PA from Frantic Frank (The Kraftsmen) the hottest new up and coming UK MC, a very special popping performance from ‘Poppin John’ straight from America winner of the world hip hop championships in Las Vegas 2008. There will also be a live graffiti wall with very talented artists, clothing and DVD stalls and not forgetting the all female Flowzaic show which will encompass B-Girling and Locking.

Breakin' Boundaries 2009There will also be a performance from Tuca E Mel very talented drummers from Brazil! We are also expecting some very special international guest dancers! The afterparty (also at Tutu’s) will be hosted by DJ Shortie (Shortie Entertainment) bringing you the best of urban music.

Proceeds from this event will go towards Guy's and St Thomas' Charity awards grants to facilitate improvements to health services and a wide range of projects including small schemes which improve the patient's environment to major initiatives which involve the purchase of cutting-edge equipment to diagnose or treat illness.
