Grand Opening Of New Canterbury Gallery - FrissonOn 4th July the Frisson gallery on Palace Street, Canterbury will hold its grand opening together with an exhibition of work by Bristol street artist Sickboy - the first official Frisson exhibition. This will be followed by a free performance from the acclaimed gypsy jazz quartet, Smile at the Orange Street Music Club, Orange St, Canterbury.

Sickboy's exhibition coincides with the launch of his new website, A description of artist Sickboy's work, taken from the website , that also sells work by world renowned street artist, Banksy, is as follows: "Originally from Northern England and now re-patriated to Bristol, Sickboy has left no bin unturned in his quest to get his name about. He does this by never actually writing his name about but painting intricate arabian temples in the colours of McDonalds on skips and doorways. A strategy so blindingly obvious it's amazing no-one has done it before". The exhibition starts at 6pm and marks the first of many shows, which will be held in the transformable art space.

The basement of the gallery houses the newly relocated 'Paint and Beatz', formerly situated above Third Eye. P and B continue to be one of the few vinyl outposts in Canterbury, selling hip-hop, funk, breaks and drum and bass. The basement also caters for artists needs with a range of pens, markers, spray-paints and canvases. It also stocks various books, magazines and DVD's, the majority of which are urban orientated and clothing by such labels as Addict, King Apparel, Supreme Being and THTC.

The Frisson gallery also accepts commissions and can arrange murals from the many artists that we represent. We can also customise anything – shoes, skateboards, and caps. We can also photo print onto canvases. The Frisson is a multi functional art space, that sells work produced by a wide range of artists, and is available for hire as an exhibition space.
