Whether you’re strictly in the UK rap camp or dedicated to the crème of US Hip Hop, there’s no denying sparks fly when two artists at the top of their game, combine. On They MC, London rapper JMC invites Cassidy, who’s famed for club bangers like Hotel and Hustler, to collaborate, and the result is a late summer hit.
The combination of the J and Cassidy flow is infectious, as the two artists unapologetically spit about the fact there are few artists able to compete with the duo’s skills. No stranger to working with artists from across the Atlantic, JMC’s Wen Eva I’m Home ft Styles P and Dat’s Gangsta ft Sheek Louch, saw J ocean hopping to record with the rap stars, while creating a buzz which now sees the Hackney born MC treated like royalty when he hits American turf.
They MC is the first major release from JMC’s debut Safecracker album. Based on the realities of his upbringing in the notorious Holly Street, Hackney, where meandering through the labyrinth of guns and drugs on his journey to success, saw him face death twice all before the age of 21.
Today, it’s all about the music, and They MC is the track set to cement his place as a rapper to be reckoned with.
