Low Life Records Presents: 'Life Before 40'As the summer winds down the quality of releases heats up. UK's finest hip hop imprint, Lowlife Records, delve into their box of tasty treasures and serve up a kick ass slab of hip hop gems from their Lowlife stable.

'Lowlife Records Presents: Life Before 40' is the label's 40th release, spanning their amazing 13 year history, keeping the fan boys and girls grinning with clued up UK cuts from an array of home grown artists.

The label has been, and still is, the impetus for some of the most respected, skilled, and successful artists to emerge on our own hip hop scene.  This includes, amongst others: Low Life founder and head-honcho Braintax, whose voice is appropriately the first to be heard on ‘Life Before 40’; lyrical alchemist Jehst; the irrepressible Task Force brothers; the mighty Mystro; London Posse lynchpin turned successful solo artist Rodney P; and Finsbury Park’s own talismanic rapper and all round hip hop hero SkinnyMan.  All of the above are present on ‘Life Before 40’, as well as up-and-coming stars like Kashmere, Asaviour and Verb T.

The CD format release of the album includes a special bonus disc featuring a staggering, not one but eight (YES EIGHT!) videos and a dexterous DJ mix of all tracks by Low Life’s very own Kam, formerly of Mr Bongo’s fame and 3rd member of production team Beyond There.

To coincide with ‘Life Before 40’s’ release Low Life will be relaunching their website (www.lowliferecords.co.uk) – the new version of the site will include pay for downloads of the cream of UK hip hop taken not only from Low Life’s own catalogue, but also those of fellow independents YNR, Kemet Entertainment, and others. Making this the first UK hip hop specialist MP3 store!
