Mark Ronson is the sound of 2007. With his masterstroke LP ‘Version’ debuting at Number 2 and being hailed as ‘little short of a miracle’ by The Independent, he returns on July 16th with his dazzling new single ‘Oh My God’. Featuring the vocal talents of urban starlet Lily Allen, it’s a stunning interpolation of The Kaiser Chiefs’ anthem and brims with an irresistible new spin.
Available on Maxi CD, 10” vinyl and to download, it’s the second single to be taken from the smash-hit album and follows ‘Stop Me’, which sold over 100,000 copies and received in excess of 10,000 UK radio plays. Confirming Mark’s status as music’s most heavyweight visionary, the new single features a host of bonus material, including a relentless, white-hot remix by the inimitable Busta Rhymes.
The video was directed Nima – whose credits include Hot Chip, Lady Sovereign and Maximo Park – and features Lily Allen as you’ve never seen her before, plus a special guest appearance by the Kaiser Chiefs.
Fresh from a triumphant London live show at Bloomsbury Ballroom, which the Times awarded with a glowing 4-star review, Mark is currently headlining dates across the country with his 10-piece band. They’ll play Wireless, Rockness and Glastonbury Festival before Mark’s DJ sets at a series of UK summer festivals. Furthermore, Mark’s billing at Liverpool’s Creamfields has witnessed their highest ticket sales ever.
The critically acclaimed LP ‘Version’ is already one of the definitive releases of the year. Having spent its first 4 weeks in the Top 10, it was certified Gold with sales of 200,000 in less than one month.
Released July 16th on Columbia.
