Nice Up Summer Soundclash - 30th July with Rodney P And Skitz And Its Free

The Big Chill Presents is back this July welcoming legendary London promoters Nice Up! to the helm. Following their massive birthday bonanza blow out on the terrace last month, the Nice Up! crew guarantee to throw the rowdiest party you will not want to miss!

So the line-up? There’s drum & bass legends Serial Killaz headlining, alongside UK hip hop legends Rodney P & Skitz, reggae favourite Jah Screechy and up-coming dubstep producer Adam Prescott. Nice Up! head honcho DJ Shepdog will be supporting whilst hip hop and reggae stalwart Disorda takes over the snug with his Dub Chronicles.

Officially the jungle legends remixers of choice, the Serial Killaz have steadily built a reputation as some of the best producers out there. From remixes of Congo Natty’s classics Junglist and Wardance, these guys have seen massive support from DJs such as DJ Hype, Nicky Blackmarket, Kenny Ken and Micky Finn. Recently signed to Congo Natty’s label, the future is looking very very bright for this duo. This is not only a rare London appearance for them, but a debut appearance at the Big Chill House.

Quite simply… a LEGEND in the game, Rodney P has been repping hip-hop in the UK since day one as half of seminal rap duo London Posse. Many cite them as the first rappers to use the English tongue rather than emulate the US. Daddy Skitz is one of the 2nd wave originators, pushing the boundaries of UK hip hop during the mid 90s with his massive selling album Countryman and huge singles with Roots Manuva and Skinnyman amongst many others. Together they held down a long running show on 1Xtra and continue to smash crowds at clubs and festivals together across the globe.

Perhaps one of the highest charting UK reggae artists in the last 20 years, Jah Screechy’s massive 80s hit Walk & Skank was sampled by rave act SL2 for their international smash On A Ragga Tip. An original soundboy and DJ with the Coxson Sound back in the 70s, Screechy has shared the mic with superstars such as Dennis Brown, Barrington Levi, Super Cat, Frankie Paul, Sugar Minott, Junior Reed, Delroy Wilson, Josey Wales, Half Pint and many many more. A true UK legend.

One of the new wave of dubstep producers following the lineage of roots reggae and dub, Adam has been making waves since his debut release on NICE UP! records On A Dubstep Tip, by no coincidence an update of Screechy’s aforementioned classic, but also featuring verses from Dynamite MC. Adam is definitely one to watch, and we’re excited for his debut at the House.

Head honcho and top dog at the NICE UP! empire Shep made his name giving the reggae treatment to tracks by artists such as MIA, Damian Marley, The Gossip, Gorillaz and Adele to name but a few. His Cut Ups, Bruck Ups and Muck Ups mixes have landed him in the top 10 compilations of 2009/2010 at Rough Trade, as well as a permanent place at the top of Juno’s bestseller charts. Just as adept spinning hip hop and reggae as he is dubstep, drum & bass and house, he always manages to NICE UP! any dancefloor.

With Nice Up already confirmed for Glastonbury, Bestival, The Big Chill, Outlook, Beat Herder and Soundwave festivals, you do not want to miss their Summer Soundclash showcase here at the Big Chill House. Consider yourself warned!
