The A to Z Of Street Music On Radio 2After a five year reign on BBC 1Xtra, Jason and Iyare have finished their highly successful daily breakfast show and are moving on to BBC Radio 2 to present a brand new series titled 'The A to Z Of Street Music'.

Due to start on December 26th 2007 the 6 part series will include an informal breakdown of who is who in today's vibrant world of street music. With confirmed guests such as the multi Grammy award winning Alicia Keys and Mobo winner Craig David scheduled for the show - it's sure to be a ground breaking project for both Jason and Iyare and Radio 2.

The pilot episode for Radio 2 featured tracks by Amy Winehouse, Common, and Stephen and Damian Marley. Naturally, Radio 2 were extremely keen to pick this up, as to date, they have not currently featured any street music programmes on the network, and approved the pilot for production.

The A to Z Of Street Music On Radio 2The concept of The A-Z Of Street Music is a product of On It Industries, the independent production company started, and run by Jason and Iyare. The company was set up in 2006 and started off making one off documentaries. They have since grown and have taken on the production of BBC 1Xtra's M1X shows, covering House, 100% home-grown (UK music), dancehall, Hip-Hop, and UKG which can all be heard on weekdays between 2am-6am. They are currently in the process of making documentaries, comedies other radio based shows and more recently a successful lecture session aimed at secondary schools on 'The Power of Street Music'.

Future development plans for the Radio 2 show include the show expanding from a 6 part series, to a permanent fixture.

This current crossover is a new venture for Radio 2 and will be an informal, but informative approach to the popular, and ever growing street music scene.
