BASS present a day of fun, music and environmental awareness at Brighton Beach, on Saturday June 10th 2006, from 12 noon until 9pm. Local bands and musicians will perform live all day on Stevie T’s wind and solar-powered stage, and local children’s group The Music Workshop will present an afternoon showcase.
Brighton Alliance of Sound Systems (BASS) will be celebrating the longest day of the year once again. A samba parade led by the Barulho samba band will proceed from Dalton’s Bastion (opposite the Volks Tavern - east of Brighton Pier) eastwards along Madeira Drive to the Banjo Groyne.
After a five-year recording hiatus - during which time he’s built his own studio, set up his own label and been touring like a madman – the one and only Omar is back. Always soulful and funky, this master musician has the ear and ability to both toch and move anyne who listens to him.
