Amplify Dot - King Kong 12" [Amped Up]

Female rapper Amplify Dot unveils the first single taken from her Short Back & Sides EP, released in 2012. King Kong follows her Summer smash Semantics, featuring Kano. It was the lead track from her debut mixtape Born Ready which featured Lioness, Booty Luv and STUSH to name a few. As well as a headline performance at Industry night ILUVLIVE in 2011, and key support from BBC Radio 1Xtra, Choice and Kiss FM, Amplify Dot was named as a 'one to watch' by The London Evening Standard.

King Kong carries a dancehall riddim vibed backing with gives a hard tinge over which Amplify Dot is able to prove she can come just as hard as any one else as she tells you that you can't tell her 'nada' proving she has her own way of running things.

The quiffed tomboy with witty punch lines and bags of swagger first began rapping after discovering her love of iconic hip hop trio Salt N Pepper. A born performer, her first 'record' was a rap for the answer phone message at her family home in South London. First making her mark on the underground scene in 2010, A.Dot released a taster EP, Dotty's World. Her debut single Born Ready teamed A.Dot with singing sensation Annonymos and Sony Publishing's Alan 'Nglish [Taio Cruz, The Saturdays, Cee-Lo Green], the track received key support from BBC Radio 1Xtra, The Box and Channel 4. She went on to share a stage with Syco-signee Labrinth and NERD’s Pharrell Williams (the latter at Lovebox for an 'off the cuff' version of 'She Likes To Move'), and record with pop starlet Jessie J.

More recently Amplify Dot featured on Tinchy Stryder's Game Over, the female takeover, DJ Cameo's all-star track for BBC Radio 1Xtra Who's That? and Ice Kid's The Rain. Amplify Dot recently signed Ice Kid to her own label AmpedUP.

She is also known for being one third of '367' (the moniker under which Amplify Dot, Lioness and Lady Leshurr perform and record together).
