Animal Farm - Pop Music mp3 [Focused Noise]In an era where rap videos are filled with flashy cars, corny dance steps, flowing champagne, and excessive jewelry, a lack of creativity has become more apparent than ever before. Today’s videos rarely have a theme and Hip-Hop artists have lost their sense of humor as well as the art of storytelling. Enter Animal Farm with their side-splitting new video for “Pop Music”, which chronicles the rise of a pop star and his fall from glory.

In “Pop Music”, Animal Farm’s Fury, Serge Severe, Gen.Erik and Hanif Wondir use clever wordplay by utilizing the names of numerous pop acts to tell this entertaining tale.

“Pop Music” was directed by Phil Haleen, and is a follow up to Animal Farm’s first single, “Test of Time”, featuring Talib Kweli, which received well over ten thousand plays on hundreds of blogs in the last week alone. Both songs will be featured on Animal Farm’s new album, Culture Shock, set for release on May 17th through Focused Noise. The new album also features X-Ecutioners’ DJ Rob Swift as well as Abstract Rude.

Animal Farm hopes that Culture Shock, which was entirely produced by MC / Producer Gen. Erik, will help put Portland, Oregon’s underrated Hip-Hop scene on the map, right next to their indie rock counterparts.

Animal Farm’s first album The Unknown, featured the legendary KRS-One, and received radio play throughout the US, peaking at #3 on the CMJ Radio Hip-Hop Charts, where Animal Farm remained in the Top 10 for seven straight weeks. Animal Farm has since generated a huge regional buzz, and has shared the stage with everyone from Common to Method Man and Redman to Wiz Khalifa.

Now Animal Farm returns, and is primed to reach listeners around the world with their classic Hip-Hop sound. According to Okayplayer, “If they keep growing joints like this down on the farm, the Pacific Northwest could be a new mecca for true-school rap". Culture Shock will not disappoint.
