DJ Four One One - Unaffected Remix EP [Real Music Japan]New name to me DJ Four One One drops this superior remix 12’ on Japanese label Real Music Japan and random jazzy action is the order of the day here. First up, dope and slept on crew Emanon get their Detour cut re-jigged and in keeping with the vibe of Exile’s original is flipped with a funky piano beat making Aloe Blac and Dr Oop’s joyous gibberish sound just lovely. I challenge you not to nod your head to this one.

Next Pete Rock’s stone cold 98’ classic Tru Master gets the twinkly Ahmed Jamal style treatment and despite the drums being slightly ill suited the hype vocal works surprisingly well over more laid back production.

Fans of quality jazzy Hip Hop such as Gagle, Jazz Liberatorz or Sound Providers would do well to investigate this fast as it’s obviously a limited piece. Although if you’re based in the UK it’s worth noting your pockets must be fat not flat as at an exorbitant £16 it may be one for the serious collectors only.
