Highly Rated - Blackstars CD [Highly Rated Entertainment]Highly Rated is an amalgamation of some of London’s brightest young talents, consisting of Beckz Winter, Xploder and his brother, former Aftershock member, Hooligan, alongside Tinie Tempah, Bruza and D.Dark. The crew formed in 2007, but have all earned their stripes on their own merits honing their considerable talents on a variety of pirate and commercial stations throughout the capital and beyond! Agitating airwaves via BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, Choice FM, Kiss, Mystic FM, Deja Vu, Rinse FM, Heat FM and many more!

These guys aren’t just experienced in broadcasting alone, they also know their way around the studio and know exactly what to do in the booth or behind the boards! Most notable releases include the gargantuan ‘Mission Riddim’ on Touchdown records, the track went on to sell over 2000 copies and feature in the BBC’s Panorama documentary series. D.Dark also featured on Flukes’ massive ‘Wifey Riddim’ in 2006, which received prodigious support from all the major fm stations nationwide! Other significant recorded moments include the ‘Grime Time Vol 1’ compilation, Xploder’s debut video ‘They Don’t Know’, which reached the Top 20 in the Channel U chart with the follow up ‘Breakin’ The Scene’ ft In Da Hood and Crazy Titch, breaking into Channel U’s Top 10 chart!

But as we all know strength is in numbers, so the team finally decided three heads are better than one and came together to record their first official release Blackstars Edition 1, a collection of original tracks and covers that highlight the groups talents both as a collective and individually.

‘The idea for the name of the CD was taken from the Ghanaian national flag’, the country of which they all share heritage through their parents, explains Xploder, ‘we wanted to stamp our identity on the project and represent for British Ghanaian’s out there’.

Blackstars’ is the first official single to be released from the Blackstars Edition 1 project and is timed in support of the Ghanaian National Football Team, also nicked named ‘The Black Stars’, as they embark on their challenge of winning the African Nations Cup competition held on their home soil this year.

Battle hungry Beckz Winter goes for self on the B side track ‘Stupid’ a lyrical poke at some of societies lesser evils, tackling infidelity and employment issues in his own innovative way over the D.Dark produced track.

Look out for both ‘Blackstars’ and ‘Stupid’ hitting video screens in the coming month, also Blackstars Edition 1 the mixtape is in all good stores nation wide now!

‘Blackstars’ b/w ‘Stupid’ is released digitally everywhere on 3rd March ‘08.
