Mudmowth and Metabeats ft. SonnyJim and Skamma - Maaad Tight 12" [Associated Minds]Whilst everyone else is preoccupied with producing spaced out elevator music to stay on the right side of the cool, the Associated Minds crew straight out of Cardiff continue to take it back to fresh spitting emcees and that banging boom bap. To concisely quote A.M themselves: Fuck a trend.

Maaad Tight is the first single to be taken from the forthcoming Sledgehammer Kisses LP from the dream team pairing of Metabeats and Mudmowth. With production handled by the unstoppable Metabeats and featuring Mudmowth alongside two of this nations finest spitters in Sonny Jim and Skamma it is a veritable shower of disgusting rhymes, with more skills on display than your average Olympics. The ferocious stuttered drums lay the foundations for slick sample chops and an infectious vocal hook which although it sticks in your mind is still going to become rather annoying rather quickly.

The video is a bit more rowdy that the track warrants maybe, but the guys are having fun with this having camandeered a london tube train and numerous other tunnels to get boisterous with. Make sure you watch it below. This is a solid track and the MCs compliment each other sweetly. Its not the greatest track ever laid down, but its certainly worth adding to the collection.

Metabeats

After the overwhelming success of his debut Metaphysical LP that was widely praised on its release and showed him as one of the next generation producer to watch, including Plan B Magazines writers pick for hip-hop album of the year, hes gone from strength to strength including working with his Squid Ninjaz family producing and featuring on a chunk of their debut LP. Not content to stop there hes also one half of Darkhouse Family recently signed to Fat City Records alongside the likes of Dabrye, Mike Slott, Harmonic 313, Mr.Dibiase, Illum Sphere and more.

Mudmowth

Undoubtedly one of the most colourful and entertaining emcees on these shores his debut Just To Get The Name Known EP and recent follow up Circus In The Cemetery 12" solidified his reputation for endlessly entertaining no holds barred energetic delivery. Single of the Months, Radio 1 Live Sessions plus various features and stage shows later hes garnered accolades as a true rhyming beast with an original perspective and sideways swipe at life.
