Carpetface - Don't Get It Twisted MP3 [NewBias]Carpetface is back with a new release after quite a long hiatus. He's now a single dad and has spent a fair bit of time in France amongst other places. He's now back in the UK and living semi off-grid. Commuting to record music has been hard, but he has found renewed enthusiasm and is to embark on the press for his release.

The new track and mix we want to focus on is the self-produced Don't Get It Twisted which will shortly be available from Bandcamp. Its a downtempo, dark and moody track focusing on the themes of deception / propaganda / corruption, misconceptions about governmental control, individual sovereignty and knowing one's rights - A no-holds-barred, smouldering rant neatly sandwiched in between two big baritone chorus hooks with haunting harmonies imploring the listener not to succumb to fake news. The slow pace and laid-back vibe complement Carpetface's lyrical delivery sweetly.

There is also a D&B remix with drums all over the place by long standing veteran Philly The Kid of the Urban Warfare Crew. Two more remixes of this track are also in the pipeline for release in Feb - one on more of a Jungle / Drumstep tip from Urban Warfare Crew's DJ Sweetleaf and another dark downtempo Hip Hop version remixed by French producer Djar One courtesy of Beats House Records.

Whilst recording his new LP 'Cognitive DISS', Carpetface was in contact with Donald D (of Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate fame) seeking feedback, but Donald D was so impressed with the tracks that he agreed to be put on and now he appears as the only featured guest! The LP has an golden era feel and even features production by Young Einstein from Ugly Duckling. The LP is out in July.

We have been covering Carpetface for 10 years now (he says it makes him feel old!) and suggest you check this out. The press says, "conscious informed lyrics, infectious hooks, and sick sick beats", yum, yum, eat it up!

Bandcamp Pre-order available from 16 January - something should be up here after posting this: https://carpetface.bandcamp.com/album/dont-get-it-twisted-single
