Louise Golbey - Novel LP [Indie]

This is not necessarily something we would cover or push usually, but we have an eclectic taste and this has a lovely mellow and soulful sound you need to give a chance. Its going to be great for cruising with the top down (when the weather gets better), or for relaxing after a hard day thuggin’. Soulful classic sounds reminiscent of Mowtown mixed with neo-soul produce a timeless sound for Louise Golbey to show us what she is worth.

The album was mixed and mastered by Mercury Music Prize nominated producer DrewBeatsHorley who we know from the earliest days of Low Life as the super producer behind Psychic Phenomena. He knows how to make something sound sweet and hit the rights spots and makes every instrument fill its spot in the mix. He’s produced a classic full sound that is pleasing to the ear and shouldn’t date.

The LP includes brand new tracks as well as re-produced older ones plus some very special guests: a track featuring UK Soul legend Omar, another featuring Mo Pleasure (Michael Jackson, Earth Wind And Fire, Roberta Flack ad more) on keyboard and bass recorded at the legendary Metropolis Studios and a brand new track produced by Aamir Yaqub (who won a Grammy for his work on Rihanna’s ‘Unapologetic’ Album).

Louise Golby has worked on tracks with a wide variety of artists including Example and The Newham Generals (signed to Dizzie Rascal’s Dirtee Stank label) and has supported and shared the stage with a number of acclaimed artists including Jessie J, Paloma Faith, Katy B, Mr Hudson, Lianne La Havas, Alexander O’Neal and Ed Sheeran (who appears in one of Louise’s music videos and even mentions her in his ‘thank yous’ on his first album). She’s set for bigger things.
