Ny - Split Endz Volume 2 LP [True Tiger]Urban singer song writing sensation Ny (pronounced - nie) is set to establish herself in 2007 as one of the leading lights of UK music with her new street album, “Split Endz Volume 2”. Fusing grime, UK garage, R&B, hip hop and rock, Ny is blazing a trail on the traditionally male dominated urban underground, so much so that Mutya Buena has name checked her as one of the UK’s current leading females alongside Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse.

With previous collaborators including Plan B, The Streets and MOBO winner Sway, Split Endz Volume 2 is Ny’s personal statement of arrival. Encapsulating her influences and experiences, ranging from the heart wrenching “Who Is She” to the unapologetic banger “Real Or Fake” featuring JME & Ghetto, Ny demonstrates what most artists lack today – a refreshing openness and honesty that includes and does not alienate.

Ny - Split Endz Volume 2 LP [True Tiger]The list of guests on the CD demonstrate Ny’s credentials as a sought after act; ranging from UK battle rapping legend Professor Green to ladies’ favourite Doctor, from Kano’s partner in grime Ghetto to conscious icon Purple Simba(and many more), the list represents the finest of what the UK has to offer. Production from the likes of Wiley, Misty Dubs, Scandalous Unlimited, Duncan Powell, Paul Fynn and Terror Danjah gives the album a distinctly British sound, one that helps to match and enhance the thoughts and feelings that Ny’s distinctly British writing demonstrates.

Both radio and TV have been quick to embrace Ny with Kiss just adding ‘Willow’ to their playlist along with 1Xtra who currently have ‘Willow’, ‘Something Real’ and ‘No One Ever Cared’ sitting pretty on their A list. Other big radio support has come from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs (Radio 1) and Ras Kwame (Radio 1) among others. Ny’s first video ‘Fire’ ft. Purple Simba is also currently being heavily rotated on both Channel U & MTV Base.

With Ny and her band securing a string of live dates through out the UK and Europe including an appearance at Rosklide festival in Denmark, one of Europe’s largest festivals; this is without a doubt the start of a truly great career for this mature twenty year old, who has seen much more than many can fit into a lifetime.

JULY 9th sees the start of what hails to be a new chapterin the UK’s urban scene.
