Choreography Film Awards

Broadcaster Amanda K Scott has just completed the first series of Choreography Film Awards. The six short films which have French, British or Dutch choreography will screen throughout Europe in Summer 2008. Two of the series commissioned films True Element and Cleopatra To Jezebel we're from Hip Hop choreographers.

True Element, 35mm, France, 10 mins, 2008
French director: William "Tre" Gauguin makes his debut short film with True Element. The film tells stories about Gauguin's colourful family members and their often bizarre antics. Told entirely through dance, combining Salsa, Jazz and Hip Hop – No matter how dysfunctional your family is most of the time, it can still pull together in a crisis. Budget Euro 65,000.

Cleopatra to Jezebel, 35mm, NL / UK / FR , 10mins, 2008
Dutch film Director Eider Lopez's Hip Hop short film is set in the turbulent period of the divided kingdoms, as various dynasties struggled to hold on to political power. Budget Euro 48,000.
