On March 18th 2007, human beatbox artists from all over the world will be gathering at London’s South Bank Centre to showcase their crazy voice boxes. The all-day event is free to attend, with a combination of workshops, showcases, seminars and open-mic sessions.
Count up the artists you’ve heard recently which don’t sound like anything else. The ones which don’t artfully reference previous classics or jump on to a revivialist trend. Artists which seem to come out of no particular space or time and do so with such force that you have to admit this really is something different. Got any fingers up yet?

October 8th marks a coming of age for African Hip-Hop when Afrolution Records, the London-based African Hip-Hop label, is bringing together some of the biggest names in African Hip-Hop for a night of hip-hop from the Motherland to take place at East London’s Cargo.

Beatboxing, is the art of making multiple musical noise at one time with only the use of ones mouth, literally being a human 'beatbox'. It has recently gained mainstream popularity beyond its hip hop roots and blossomed into an art form all of its own.
On Wednesday 12th July hundreds of music fans will descend upon Cargo nightclub in London to witness a competition like no other: music being made solely with the mouth. Eight of the country’s finest human beatboxers will fight it out to become the National Champion, and to represent the UK at the World Championships in Tokyo this Winter.
