Just when you think the art of turntablism can't get more innovative, exciting and challenging, the DMC DJ Championships spring back in to their annual season of action and surprise the world. Packing out two days at the massive, stalwart London venue the HMV Forum, DMC has yet again proven to revitalize, boost and replenish this rich DJ culture.

Every year, the world's greatest DJ competition continues to elevate. The competitors become more innovative, the venues become busier and DMC further solidifies its importance in the technological advances in DJ and music culture. 2012's DMC UK Final was no different, as the acts on show completely wowed the crowd with their skill.

In its 28th glorious year, DMC continues to bring together the globe's freshest DJ talents, vetted by a series of gruelling heats from London to Tokyo and Brazil, all culminating in one of the most entertaining and jaw dropping shows you will ever witness. This year's UK Final will be even more mouth wateringly, boundary pushing than the last with fantastic competitors from around the country battling for a place at the World Finals.

Bass Music / Escapism is more than a music album. It's a sixteen-track journey. A f*cking loud journey best made with your head placed neatly between two subwoofers, eyes closed. A journey through the raves, festivals, carnivals and stage shows of Inja's daily routine. Into the sweet, unadulterated blast of pleasure known to us as Bass. Pepper Sauce is the next single to wet our appetites to Inja's forthcoming Bass Music / Escapism. He turns up the heat a little, relaxes a little and takes to the streets carnival style. The track is an explosive collaboration, blending the reggae production of Northern French DJ Edsik (Allouette Street Records) with Inja's lyrical hip-hop mastery.

Gearing up for his 2011/12 album release: Bass Music Adventure / Escapism, Inja steps up his pace with the first single Laters Later, crossing channels and genres in an explosive hook up with Northern French / Belgian bass fanatics, Allouette Street records. A rave-bound blend of grime, dubstep and industrial electronics from Lille production duo Hungry Studio grips Inja's renowned lyrical hyper-activity to create a perfect, thumping compromise of UK grime, rap, European electronics and pure bass music adventuring.

2011 is a milestone year, not just for the competition, but yet again the DMC World DJ Championships boundary pushing will signal change in the wider world of technology. In its 27th successful year, DMC has brought together the globes brightest DJ talents, vetted by a series of gruelling heats from London to Tokyo to Brazil. This year, not only are DMC continuing to host one of the most entertaining and jaw dropping shows you will ever witness but they have set the bar even higher.

I always thought of Inja (or on myspace) as a pretty traditional MC but his 'Hat Low' EP put an end to that. This new track sees him, SkinnyMan and Fallacy go in over a well executed Grime style beat. Whether or not he's trying to cash in on the fact that Grime is a better-selling genre right now (just check any HMV), it can't be ignored that these three MCs actually really put it down on this.

We like Dubbledge here. His hook ups with Parky were dope and the Don’t Interrupt track on the ukhh.com CD was awesome. But the Watford based artist has put together his own mix CD and it is chocka with splendid offerings.
