There is not got long to go before the 6th Rising Styles Hip Hop Festival is upon us. Launched in 2004, Rising Styles (RS) is the UK ’s largest celebration of international hip-hop culture. Building on the success of previous years, the 2009 festival is developing a fantastic line up of high profile events, designed to appeal to audiences new and old and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The tracklist for DJ Gone's 'Sin City', out now on Kung Fu, kinda speaks for itself to any UKHH head. Featuring the cream of the scene and in the vein of Kung Fu's showcasing 'Sin City' is over an hour's worth of exclusive freestyles and tracks - it's basically a must for those fans who strive for more than an artist's album and single output. It's also pretty essential for anyone who just wants to bump quality Hip Hop for an hour.

Back once again for the very third time; UK Runnings and The Urban Shop drop a bigger and better CD. This time every track is exclusive hence the name: 100% Exclusive. Now who else could do that? No-one, only Tricksta. To add to the largeness there’s a DVD that almost deserves a review of it own.

After an incredible two day competition last Friday and Saturday, this year’s DMC World DJ Championships have been decided and this year’s ruling DJs have been crowned. With electric performances over the weekend from Million Dan, Killa Kela and his full live experience, DJ Vajra, Jungle Drummer vs. DJ Fu and a showcase set from last year’s champion DJ Rafik the Indigo2 was packed out with anxious fans waiting with baited breath for the all important winner announcements.

Baby J has rapidly become well known in Hip Hop, mainly in the UK but as a result of working with Wu-Affiliate Shabazz the Disciple, Brand Nubian and Dead Prez and others there are some in the US who will also know his name. His knack for sampling already insanely catchy songs and matching them up to MC's and singers who are actually decent has seen him score a few successes.

Million Dan is an absolute legend. Known world wide as Mike J from the Demon Boyz, he has returned as Million Dan and has his Spektrum LP out right now.
