With the release of their 6th album, Atmosphere have come a long way since ‘Overcast’. Now recording with live instruments and touring with a band, they have upgraded their sound for ‘When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint That Shit Gold’, and even got Tom Waits to do some beatboxing on there.
Distrakt's first experiences into the entrancing world of music began in his childhood at his grandmother's jook joint. He'd listen to the jukebox pump out hypnotizing sounds from BB King, Bobby Blue Bland, Aretha Franklin .and the list goes on. His boom box bumped Afrika Bambaataa & the Soul Sonic Force, BDP, Run-DMC, Gangstarr and many more.
Imagine how many cigarettes, beers, tour dates, international flights, all-night drives, backstage shenanigans, countless hours in a van, low-budget hotel rooms, notebooks filled with lyrics and endless hours of recording sessions have been consumed, experienced and sustained by Atmosphere over the course eight years?
