London’s most talked about music festival - The Lovebox Weekender has announced that pop legends Duran Duran and hip-hop collective N.E.R.D featuring Pharrell Williams will be joining festival founders Groove Armada as headline acts for the 2009 festival which will take place across the weekend of Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July at London’s Victoria Park.
N.E.R.D. are the beat missiles of the entire music scene for many reasons. But the most functional of all these reasons? It isn’t their style, their confidence, who they know. It’s the fact that all three of them have the most intuition into the beauty that is beats because all three of them know drums like they’ve grown up eating rhythm with drum sticks. The simple yet ingenious toms we saw on “She Wants To Move” all them years ago. The focussed snare rolls we saw on “Maybe”. They’re not the result of guidelines. They’re pure intuition.
Converse, the creator of iconic shoes including the Chuck Taylor® All Star®, Jack Purcell® and One Star®, announced that it had brought together the talents of Pharrell Williams, N.E.R.D., Santogold and Julian Casablancas as part of the brand’s Century celebration.
Pharrell Williams has blazed a career to the top of the charts as a mega-platinum producer, songwriter and multi-instrumental musician in the Neptunes and N.E.R.D. His recently completed first solo album, "In My Mind" features guest appearances by Gwen Stefani, Jay-Z, Daddy Yankee, and Slim Thug.
