It is over 20 years since the Pharcyde dropped their ground breaking classic debut on us and now they are back with a major tour throughout Europe. Well it’s not all of them, but Slimkid3 and Fatlip will be there with J Swift and L.A.Jay alongside them.
Nice packaging and artwork always set things off well and Ancient Astronauts made a good impression before I even played We Are To Answer. Music transcends language barriers and the fact that these Germans invited along some British speaking guests helps.
On Delicious Vinyl’s Rmxxology, indie dance-darlings Hot Chip remix “Passin’ Me By”, the much-loved tale of unrequited longing. The original track is classic 90’s hip-hop from The Pharcyde, from their legendary album Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde.
Zero dB of the Drum & Bass genre first came out in 1999 when they dropped Come Party on the Fluid Ounce label. Later in 2007 they masterminded the remix album, Heavyweight Gringos. Zero dB have had many of their tracks remixed and have been remixing others tracks and this latest project sees remixes of tracks from the likes of: DJ Kentaro, Peter Kruder, Nwachukwu and Dave Da Gato.
Blackalicious have released their first DVD which is primarily a recording of one of their shows from the Showbox Theatre in Seattle in the Northwest of the USA. It took place on the 20th of April as part of the 45 day tour they undertook with the likes of Lateef, Pigeon John, LifeSavas and Fat Lip of the Pharcyde.
Fatlip (from the Pharcyde) is coming out with a new album this Tuesday called "The Loneliest Punk". Anyone here a fan of the Pharcyde? This album is going to be tight!! It has Chali Tuna from Jurassic 5 as well as Shock G & Humpty Hump of Digital Underground. As well as this Spike Jonez did a documentary called "What's Up Fatlip?" - which is hilarious! I've been into Fatlip and Delicious Vinyl for a while now and can't wait to hear this. Check out itunes.
