Akrobatik – Biography

Akrobatik’s varsity rhyme career hatched in 1998, when his first single, “Ruff Enuff”, dropped on Boston’s own Detonator Records. In addition to introducing fans to Ak’s accessible intellectuality, the album paired him with co-defendant Mr. Lif for the first time on “The Fat Sh**” B-side and fueled anticipation for an ensuing 12” flurry.

Rawkus Records will celebrate its 12th year in business in 2008. In 2007 the label continued to develop many important new artists including Kidz in the Hall, Panacea, Marco Polo, and Hezekiah. Unlike the original core roster's (Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch) New York City base, the releases of 2007 focused on artists from Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Toronto.
