"This is art no corporate crap", Exactly. Guru always rhymes about the truths and its nice to hear something different from all the 50 Cent, Game and other "corporate" rappers that I hear about rhyming about guns, drugs, money which a lot of rappers don't actually know about but know it's going to sell.
In the second of our two part interview with Guru and Solar, Jay Diamond catches up with Solar. Solar describes Jazzmatazz 4 as an artistic statement in an era where people make music for money, rather than the love; and how he dedicated his being completely to creating it. He also talks about the creative intelligence of the ‘State Of Clarity’ video, and the curse of creative vampires.
We told you about DJ Samo's previous CD 'See You After The Break', and he has returned with another hot one, this time entitled 'Just For The Record'. The CD gets gets going with some posh English voice from some stereo effects record, before the Jaws Theme heralds a darker vibe as Samo asks 'guess whose coming?'.
DJ Samo is a party DJ from Cornwall in the South West, but is originally from Scarborough, who is well known for playing hype live sets. Recently he appears to have hooked up with MC Carpetface, but before that coming out on Aerosolik records DJ Samo has produced a couple of mix CDs which are hot to def. The first one which I peeped was See You After The Break which is 1 hour and a quarter of funky sounds.
