Rick Ross announces – Rich Forever Live At Proud2 2nd April 2012

Arguably the hottest rapper in the game, the Miami based phenomenon Rick Ross hits the UK for an exclusive live show at London's Proud2 on Monday 2nd April. Rick Ross's initial rise in the rap game came from his colourful glamorisation of Miami's reputation for drug trafficking. The distinctive 300-pound, six foot rapper tattooed with pictures of AK-47s embraced his city's reputation on his debut single Hustlin' in 2006. While Atlanta and Houston artists were establishing their cities as Southern strongholds, Ross aimed at putting Miami back in rap's national spotlight.

Delicious Vinyl All Stars – Rmxxology CD [Delicious Vinyl]

Go back to the future with Delicious Vinyl Rmxxology, an all-new, 15-track album featuring classic tracks by Young MC, The Pharcyde, Masta Ace, The Brand New Heavies and Fatlip re-imagined by artists including Peaches, Hot Chip and Eminem. The first two singles from the album are already popular: pioneering electro goddess Peaches' sizzling update of Tone Loc's immortal "Wild Thing" and Aaron LaCrate and Debonair Samir's gutter-bumping Baltimore blast of Young MC's "Know How".

Late Presents Underground Exposure 5 - Coast 2 Coast Grindin (Hosted by Lil Tec) CD [Wolftown]

Late Presents Underground Exposure 5 – Coast 2 Coast Grindin (Hosted by Lil Tec) CD [Wolftown]

The story of how Late & Lil Tec come to do this mixtape is a sad one. For those deep Wolftown fans you'll have probably heard of Lil Tec spit on 'The Thug & The Villain' on Late's 'Villainous One' release a few years back. This collobo was hooked up by the late great American mixtape genius Big Gee Damme who sadly passed away just after mixing his mix for Wolftown entitled 'The Empire Strikes Back'.

Akon - In My Ghetto CD [White]

Akon – In My Ghetto CD [White]

This rare underground album from urban music’s new voice is in my opinion the best Akon CD out there to buy. Miami’s Rick Ross jumps up on ‘Cross The Line’ the opening track to great effect. Akon’s down to earth lyrics keep the album gully throughout but his smooth vocal tones inject soul too giving us the best of both worlds.

Rick Ross

Rick Ross

Rick Ross is known in the music industry as a man to come to if you need a hit. Just ask Too $hort, Bird Man, Daz Dillinger, R. Kelly, Snoop, and the host of other MC's that have requested his husky vocals on their tracks. Jay-Z signed him to Def Jam Records following a large bidding war with other big boys like Interscope and Atlantic Records.
