'Red Card' featuring Boy Better Know. Taken from Frisco's upcoming album The Familiar Stranger out 16th October.
Home grown grime collective Boy Better Know smashed the decibel metre during last night's Red Bull Culture Clash at London's Wembley Arena to be crowned 2012 champion by hosts Tim Westwood and Gemma Cairney. The sound of London's streets was victorious, beating loud and heavy competition from Major Lazer, Annie Mac Presents Magnetic Man and Channel One.
Baby J is a producer from the UK currently splitting his time between the UK and NYC. An experienced producer he has worked internationally for the last eight years. He was first found back in 95 when an A&R at Wu-tang heard a demo he had produced and brought him in to work with up and coming acts.
Wake Up is the latest release from the UK producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the game. This time he returns with fellow midlander Alex Blood. The track, surprisingly for its subject matter is rather upbeat and jolly. The beat reminds me of Redman's Smash Somthin' a bit, but different of course with the main refrain played on a tightly strung guitar or mandolin.
This is apparently a download only CD which is available from www.shortyonline.co.uk for the month of April and available for purchase thereafter. Shorty are also known as the Seven Head Army and are a seven piece Hip Hop band. They are able to mix styles from Funk to Rock and have a bit of a following as a live phenomenon.
