DJ Krush is one of the most successful hip-hop producers outside of the US and has evolved his sound over a series of flawless albums since his eponymous debut in 1994. His second album Strictly Turntablised (Mowax) was entirely instrumental and the music press began to use the term ‘trip-hop’ to describe his trademark sound, sparse mid tempo breakbeats with a smoked-out atmosphere.
DJ Krush, was born in 1962 in Tokyo. After watching the film "Wild Style" in the early 80s, he was inspired, bought some turntables, and started to learn the art of turntablism. In 1987, along with DJs like DJ Muro, he formed the Krush Posse, which made numerous appearances as a group in late 1992 and gained him recognition by becoming the first DJ in Japan to perform with live musicians.
Japan's best and most revered producer / mixmaster and indeed one of the greatest legends in the world of hip hop and breaks returns to the UK for a limited number of shows. A gifted producer & DJ with a superb sense in mixing and composing his sound who's been hugely received in the international club scene, Krush was indoctrinated into hiphop culture by a single viewing of Wildstyle in '82.
