Leeds rapper Chief Wigz (or Chief Wiggum), who features on J-Simple's Breath Control, is about to release Sunday Service on the Don't Talk To Strangers imprint. Production will be by Brutal Artistry and it'll be out on a 12" vinyl and digital download sometime in July.

Don't Talk To Strangers are a crew from West Yorkshire that has started its own label and is expanding to get their name out Europe wide. They have an impressive slate of releases lined up for 2009 already. Check out what their main man Bane had to say to Certified Banger and find out what has happened to the crew since we last caught up with them at the begining of the year.

The top thing that Brutal Artistry does is stay true to the roots. So there was none of this, 'lets just sell out to students and pissheads'… It was a hip hop night. They wanted a hip hop crowd. And man did they get one. It seems nowadays the common acceptance is that real hip hop doesn't sell. Many DJs are forced to put on R&B or house nights in order to really make some money.

Yeaaah. That's good. Really. Bliss. Chief Wigz creates an implausible dimension. With lightly caressed snare drums and hi-hat beats that seem to characterize the lyrics and personify the thoughts within them. Something that is so rare, I thought it was pure fantasy.

Like a good Chinese soup nothing goes to waste with Chief Wiggum. He utilises his background, personality and intellect to their full potential in every breathing moment. For a malnutritioned hip hop culture he is the pure soul we crave. Ahead of some mintin’ new projects, and the new album which in stores form Monday; I caught up with him, his lass Natalie, their peaceful new born and Miki B from Brutal Artistry.

West yorkshire - an area overrun with bare talent but few opportunities. Especially for the folk of Bradford. Brutal Artistry have outdone themselves this time by coming together with Michael Cained entertainment to create a night which can only be described as class.
